Situated on the North hemisphere, Portugal has a very mild weather. Even so there are significant differences between the North and the South, the Interior and the Coastline. The Interior of the country is characterized by a more variable weather than in the coastline regions. South from the Tagus River the weather is like a Mediterranean weather. Summer is hot and wet; winter is dry, short and relatively warm. The temperatures can vary between 8 and 28 degrees Celsius.
